Jane Krakowski and Chris Diamantopoulos Join Fox’s ‘A Christmas Story’ Live

Fox has added Jane Krakowski and Chris Diamantopoulos to the cast of their upcoming “A Christmas Story Live,” according to Variety.

The live television event is a production of the hit Broadway musical. The musical is based on the 1983 film. The film was based on the Jean Shepherd novel “In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash.”

A Christmas Story: Live” previously announced that Andy Walken will play the lead role of Ralphie Parker, with Matthew Broderick narrating as the adult Ralph. Maya Rudolph plays Ralphie’s mother. Chris Diamantopoulos joins the cast as Ralphie’s gruff father. Jane Krakowski will play Ralphie’s teacher, Miss Shields.

Chris Diamantopoulos was nominated for one Primetime Emmy for voice-over work as Mickey Mouse. He has done additional voice-over work in “American Dad!” and “Batman Unlimited.” He has also appeared in episodes of “The Office” and “Silicon Valley.”

Jane Krakowski is best known for her role as diva Jenna Maroney on “30 Rock.” There she earned four Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress. She was also nominated for her role as Jacqueline White on “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.”

“A Christmas Story: Live” is directed by Alex Rudzinski. He won an Emmy for directing “Grease: Live” for Fox last year, and was nominated again for NBC’s “Hairspray: Live.” He will return to NBC in 2018 with “A Few Good Men: Live.”

The exact air date hasn’t been announced, but “A Christmas Story: Live” will be televised in December.
