After teasing it throughout the day on Tuesday, Marvel Studios released the official trailer for “Avengers: Infinity War” on Wednesday morning.
The long promised film unites all of the currently introduced MCU characters. This, however, does not count the X-Men or Deadpool, because Disney and Marvel do not hold the rights to those characters.
But “Infinity War” will include Iron-Man, Captain America, the Hulk, Black Panther, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and all the characters you’ve grown to love. The heroes are united to fight against the powerful villain, Thanos. Thanos, played by Josh Brolin, is the supervillain hinted at in both installments of “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
Up until now, there have only been guesses at what brings all of these characters together. Teaser footage from Disney’s D23 showed Thor, out in space, hitting the windshield of Star Lord’s ship. And an end-credits scene in “Thor: Ragnarok” hinted at how that might come to pass. But not much else is known about the plot.
Anthony and Joe Russo direct the film, which is produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee are the executive producers. Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay.
The film stars Robert Downey, Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, Chadwick Boseman, Zoe Saldana, Scarlett Johansen, Mark Ruffalo, and all the rest.
“Avengers: Infinity War” will be in theaters May 4, 2018.
