OSCARS® Narrow Down Contenders in Race for Best Documentary Short

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has just released a new shortlist for contenders in the Oscar race for best documentary short subject. Of the 77 eligible entries entered this year, voters from the Academy’s Documentary Branch created a shortlist; From the ten on the shortlist, five will go forward to be officially nominated come January. Take a look at the contenders below:

“Heroin(e),” A Netflix Original Documentary in association with The Center for Investigative Reporting, A Requisite Media Production
“Kayayo – The Living Shopping Baskets,” Integral Film
“Knife Skills,” TFL Films
“116 Cameras,” Birdling Films
“Ram Dass, Going Home,” Further Pictures
“Ten Meter Tower,” Plattform Produktion
“Traffic Stop,” Q-Ball Productions

The 90th Oscars takes place March 4, 2018. Oscar nominations will be announced Jan. 23, 2018.
