Vancouver Film Critics Circle Names ‘Lady Bird’ Best Film of 2017

The Vancouver Film Critics Circle also announced their 2017 award winners on Monday morning.

They are part of a small number of critics groups that announce only the winners in each category, without runners up. This year, the group selected “Lady Bird” as Best Film, while recognizing Paul Thomas Anderson and Daniel Day-Lewis for their work with “Phantom Thread.”

Willem Dafoe collected yet another award for “The Florida Project,” as did Laurie Metcalf and Saoirse Ronan for their performances in “Lady Bird.”
