Paramount Pictures continues to amp up its promotion of this summer’s latest franchise entry, “Mission: Impossible—Fallout.”
This morning, the studio released the official theatrical poster. They also confirmed the first trailer will run this Sunday during the Big Game.
“Mission: Impossible—Fallout” stars Tom Cruise, who returns as super spy Ethan Hunt. Together with his IMF team, they must race to stop the villainous Syndicate after a mission goes wrong.
Academy Award nominee Cruise joined Instagram just last week to begin promotion on the sixth film in the “M:I” series. Worldwide, the spy films have grossed more than $2.7 billion.
“Fallout” is the first in the franchise to carry over villains and plots that were introduced in a previous installment. Rebecca Ferguson returns as Hunt’s foil, Ilsa Faust. In “Rogue Nation,” the two were pitted against each other. Now, they join forces to go after the Syndicate, headed by Solomon Lane (Sean Harris).
“”Mission: Impossible—Fallout” also marks the return of Alec Baldwin, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Michelle Monaghan. Newcomers to the cast are Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Vanessa Kirby.
Christopher McQuarrie directs “Fallout.” He also directed “Rogue Nation,” and is the only director to helm two films in the series.
“Mission: Impossible—” will be in theaters July 27.
