While still basking in the glow of “Black Panther” and its rousing success, Michael B. Jordan’s next project has a teaser trailer.
HBO shared a the official teaser for its upcoming TV movie, “Fahrenheit 451.”
The film is based on the dystopian novel by Ray Bradbury in which “firemen” burn books in order to control the flow of information to the masses. The title refers to the temperature at which the paper in a book will burn. First published in 1953, the novel was adapted into a 1966 feature film starring Julie Christie and Oskar Werner. It was also adapted into a play.
Michael B. Jordan stars as Guy Montag, a fireman whose views of the world start to shift when he meets his free-spirited young neighbor. Jordan can currently be seen in “Black Panther,” and will soon reprise his role as Apollo Creed’s son in “Creed II.”
Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon plays Beatty, Guy’s mentor and hardcore believer in the cause. Shannon stars in this year’s Best Picture nominee, “The Shape of Water,” and was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for “Revolutionary Road” and “Nocturnal Animals.”
Sofia Boutella is Clarisse, the woman who leads Guy to question everything he knows. Last year, the actress starred in two action films, “Atomic Blonde” and “The Mummy.”
Ramin Bahrani wrote the screenplay from Bradbury’s novel. He also directed the film. Bahrani previously directed Shannon in the film “99 Homes.” He has worked in short films, and also directed the features “Man Push Cart” and “Strangers.”
“Fahrenheit 451” will be released on HBO in May.
