Warner Bros released a new trailer for the upcoming adventure movie, “Ready Player One.”
The film is based on the novel by Ernest Cline, and directed by Steven Spielberg. Zak Penn adapted the novel into the screenplay.
The synopsis is:
When the creator of a virtual reality world called the OASIS dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune.
“Ready Player One” stars Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, Mark Rylance, Lena Waithe, and many more.
Sheridan played Scott Summers/Cyclops in “X-Men: Apocalypse” and will reprise the role in “X-Men: Dark Phoenix.” Cooke is currently in theaters with “Thoroughbreds,” and will soon star in the TV mini-series, “Vanity Fair.”
Mendelsohn starred in “Rogue One” and last year’s Best Picture nominated film, “Darkest Hour” as King George. Lena Waithe is an award-winning writer and star of “Master of None” on Netflix. And Mark Rylance reunites with Spielberg after his Oscar winning performance in “Bridge of Spies.”
It is an ode to pop culture nostalgia, enjoyed from a dystopian future. The film premiered as the secret screening at SXSW in Austin, Texas. The reactions there were mixed, but mostly enthusiastic.
“Ready Player One” is distributed by Warner Bros. and will be in theaters nationwide on March 29. It will be available in 2D and 3D formats.
