First Reactions to ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Emerge From the Los Angeles Premiere

Late late night, the very first reactions to “Solo: A Star Wars Story” were unleashed on to the internet. Coming mostly from the Los Angeles premiere of the film, a number of pundits were able to weigh in on the Han Solo origin story. The full reviews for the movie won’t be out until next week, after it has a special screening at the Cannes Film Festival, but this was the moment when we found out if the flick would sink or swim. Is this closer to the more recent outings or the prequels? Well, it seems like fans are in luck, as LucasFilm seems to have another hit on their hands.

So far, it sounds like “Solo: A Star Wars Story” managed to survive the behind the scenes chaos. Most of the early Twitter reactions are positive, if not outright raves. It feels like this will be along the lines of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” which is ironic considering how both had similarly troubled productions. Directed by Ron Howard (after he took over part way through the shoot) and starring Alden Ehrenreich as the title character, it seems this is another worthy entry into the Star Wars canon. Unsurprisingly, best in show apparently is Donald Glover. Read on to see for yourself.
