Inherently, horror remakes are iffy propositions, at best. Trying to match or improve on what worked before with this genre rarely works. Even more so, when dealing with classic horror, the odds of succeeding are low. You can count on one hand the films that work. So, a remake of “Suspiria” should be inspiring groans, not anticipation. However, this remake does not seem to be like all of the others. From the talent involved to the vibe being given off, it has a ton of potential. We may very well see something special late this fall. In fact, the publicity machine is already in motion.
Amazon Studios has released four Teaser Posters for the film, helping to set the mood. We don’t have images from the movie, but creepy sayings, giving you a bit of a hint about the coven of witches we’ll be dealing with. Of course, this one comes to us from filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, coming off of the critically acclaimed and Academy Award winning “Call Me By Your Name.” Starring Lutz Ebersdorf, Mia Goth, Jessica Harper, Dakota Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Tilda Swinton, the flick is written by David Kajganich. The talent involved is considerable. That goes without saying. Now, these Posters are starting to hint at what audiences will be in for.
This is the official plot:
As a darkness builds at the center of a world-renowned dance company, its artistic director (Swinton), a young American new to the troupe (Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist (Ebersdorf) become entangled in a bloody, sighing nightmare.

“Suspiria” is currently scheduled to hit theaters on November 2, 2018. It might be looking at one of the fall film festivals for a debut, so that’s something to look forward to. Dario Argento‘s original is an undisputed classic, so all eyes will be on this one.
