DC and Warner Bros. Releases First ‘Aquaman’ Poster

Despite the long gap between “Justice League” and “Aquaman,” the DC Universe is chugging along. The film franchise has been met with controversy time and time again. While “Wonder Woman” was an undeniable success, the other films have not done so well. Simultaneously, some pockets of fans on the internet have been extremely vocal about the DCEU succeeding. When you have a devout fan base that can often help set up success, and the DCEU is chugging along.

Today, Warner Bros. and DC Comics released the first poster for the upcoming “Aquaman” film. The new entry in the DC Extended Universe comes 13 months after the release of “Justice League,” and follows Jason Momoa‘s character. Momoa is a fan-favorite, building his reputation on “Game of Thrones” and a series of action movies. Now he finally gets a chance to headline his own superhero film.

The plot of “Aquaman” on IMDB is as follows:

Arthur Curry learns that he is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, and must step forward to lead his people and to be a hero to the world.

A few quality actors have been added to the franchise for the next DC Comics film. Willem DafoeNicole Kidman, and Amanda Heard taking big roles for the franchise. Director James Wan should be a solid choice after delivering “Furious 7” to strong reviews despite Paul Walker‘s death in the process of shooting. The strength of the film’s crew seems to be stronger than other DC entries. Hopefully, we’ll get another quality movie to add to the franchise come December.
