Circuit Scorecard: 2019-2020 TV Schedule and Promising Network Lineups

TV Stumptown

Pilot season is upon us. As September brings us into fall, so too does the new Fall TV season begin. With more networks than ever before, it has become incredibly challenging to keep track of what to watch.

Current TV Schedule & Updates

Updated: October 6, 2019

This first section looks at the 2019-2020 Network TV schedule. Each channel will have two charts. The first chart breaks out the new shows for each network. The second looks at the returning shows. Each chart lists premiere dates, weekly air dates and any updates on renewals or cancellations. The links on the show title take you to the latest review for that show’s current season.

ABC continues to build off of their biggest successes. “Mixed-ish” comes in as a spin-off from “Black-ish,” ABC’s incredibly successful family comedy. They recently had a similar situation with “Schooled” (which exists in the same universe as “The Goldbergs”). Other than that, ABC starts the fall with two new dramas. “Stumptown” casts Cobie Smulders in the adaptation of a private investigator graphic novel. Meanwhile, “Emergence” is a mystery about a young girl found at the scene of a plane crash with no memory of prior events.

TV PSWith ten new series, FOX has the largest roster of freshmen. Up first are the criminal thriller “Prodigal Son,” the sperm donor dramedy “Almost Family,” and the star-studded animated comedy “Bless the Harts.” Fox also leans into IP, with “9-1-1” getting its own spin-off midseason (“9-1-1: Lone Star”). In terms of returning shows, they are leaning heavily into “The Masked Singer,” their surprise hit from mid-season. With “Empire” leaving, Fox hopes one of these new shows can take up the mantle and be the latest water-cooler television event.

TV Bluff City Law“Bluff City Law” enters the fall season very confident, as NBC has already picked the show up for a full 16 episode season. Meanwhile, their massive hit “This Is Us” isn’t going anywhere. While this year marks the show’s fourth season, it has already gotten picked up for seasons five and six.
