MPSE Golden Reel Awards Nominees: “A Quiet Place’ and ‘Roma’ Included

We are just days away from the Academy Award nominations announcement, thus the final guilds and craft-related organizations left to reveal their contenders this year are doing so.

Today, the Motion Picture Sound Editors have unveiled the films and TV productions nominated for their 66th annual MPSE Golden Reel Awards to be presented next month in Los Angeles.

Notably, Alfonso Cuarón’s “Roma” wasn’t nominated as a Foreign Language Feature, but rather in the major categories alongside all other major Hollywood, English-language film. Two animated features, “Isle of Dogs” and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” garnered mentions outside of the Feature Animation lineup, become the two strongest animated bets this season.

A Quiet Place,” “First Man,” and “The Favourite” also received multiple nominations.
