Welcome back to the Streaming Circuit, a look at what’s going to be available each week to watch in the comfort of your own home. For those of you hoping to find some quality viewing options without leaving the house, this is the column for you!
Sure, John Cho and Haley Lu Richardson had a great 2018, with the former doing career best work in “Searching” and the latter warming hearts in “Support The Girls.” Back in 2017, however, they paired up for this unique romantic drama. The feature debut of Kogonada, it’s a film as much about architecture as it is about romance. Cho and Richardson are wonderful, while it’s consistently a joy to look at. Rolling Stone raved about it, writing the following in their review:
The feature directing debut of Kogonada, the South Korean video essayist and critic, is a poetic spellbinder about two strangers bonding over modern architecture.
If you’re a fan of Cho, Richardson, or just great cinematography, “Columbus” is one not to miss. It’ll be streaming on Hulu as of the 21st.
