What’s on TV? – Wednesday (1/30/19) – ‘Full Frontal with Samantha Bee’ Finishes Its Third Season

Welcome back to “What’s on TV’s” Wednesday edition. After a few weeks of exciting premieres, the TV landscape has settled down a bit. There are no big new shows on tonight. Still, at least there are plenty of new episodes across all your favorite shows. Check out and see what’s on TV tonight.

“Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” Season 3 Finale (TBS) at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Samantha Bee has been establishing herself as the must watch political comedian lately. “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” balances uproarious humor with timely insight on today’s current events. Tonight marks the end of her highly successful third season. With new political figures announcing their campaigns and the government reopening after the longest shutdown in U.S. history, Bee will certainly have a lot to say on her final episode. Catch it at 10:30 p.m. ET on TBS

We’re taking a week off with new premieres. Don’t worry! There are plenty of other great shows returning, movies to watch and new episodes of your favorite shows. Read to learn more.

MTV’s long running reality show “The Challenge” returns… on Wednesday, February 6th. However, that’s not stopping them from offering us a sneak peek at their new season, “The Challenge: War of the Worlds.” This latest season grabs 34 contestants across the entire world and sets them through physically and mentally demanding challenges. At the end of their quest is a $1 million prize. Watch as alliances form, people fail and twists come fast and furious. Let this preview, which airs at 9 p.m. ET on MTV, whet your appetite for the coming premiere.

Movies On TV

There’s not much in terms of new movies on TV tonight. That said, those looking to finish catching up with 2018 films should make a point to check out HBO tonight. “Tully,” Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody’s undersung gem about motherhood, comes on HBO Signature tonight at 9 p.m. ET. Come for Charlize Theron’s Golden Globe nominated performance as Marlo, a mother of three at the end of her rope. Stay for the intricate examination of how a woman’s life morphs and changes across her 20s and 30s.

For those more in the mood for classics, some old favorites come on tonight on AMC and Freeform. For those desperately missing summer (or those who are scared of the water), AMC has you covered. Steven Spielberg’s landmark blockbuster “Jaws” starts at 8 p.m. ET. On a more nostalgic note, Freeform takes us back to an ‘80s classic. Come explore underground caves and go on an adventure with “The Goonies” at 8:30 p.m. ET. Even with no premieres, there are still plenty of great things on TV to make a great night.
