The first installment, released in 2013, was a box office juggernaut. On $150 million budget, the went on to gross more than $1.2 billion worldwide. It went on to win two Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song (“Let It Go”), which made songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson Lopez, newly minted “EGOT” recipients. It was announced in March 2015 that a sequel would be released. The original film also won awards at the Golden Globes, BAFTA, Annies, Critics Choice, PGA, and the Awards Circuit Community Awards.
According to IMDB, the synopsis will follow Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf as they are going far in the forest to know the truth about an ancient mystery of their kingdom. Talk about being vague and unknown.
“Frozen 2” welcomes back the voice talents of Menzel, Bell, Groff, and Gad, while adding Emmy winner Sterling K. Brown and Evan Rachel Wood to the cast. Allison Schroeder, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of “Hidden Figures,” worked on the script with co-director Jennifer Lee.
