**Circuit Q&A’s are our daily community question, posed to the readers of AwardsCircuit that cover various topics from film and television to general wonderings and for instances**
Happy Valentine’s Day! On this day of romance, it’s only right to look at cinematic love stories. Film has long looked at love as the height of drama, and rightly so. When it’s good, nothing is better. When it’s bad, nothing can hurt more. Both sides of the coin have led to acclaim and Oscar glory over the years. For the holiday today, we’re asking about your favorite love stories, in movies or even on television.
If you want your heart to soar, it’s hard to beat “Love, Actually.” The formula is just right on the money. Filmmaker Richard Curtis even went back to that well with “About Time” and showed he’s a master of love stories. Those of you in search of lighter fare could even go for the on the nose “Valentine’s Day” for your pick. Of course, “The Notebook” does it for a lot of folks. It’ll be interesting to see what you all have to say today since this is so personal in nature. Everyone will have a different pick, which is only proper.
On the other end of the spectrum, there are tearjerkers. Who among you aren’t reduced to rubble while watching “Blue Valentine,” for example? Just because it isn’t all sunshine and roses, that doesn’t mean it isn’t apt for the day. In fact, we did a whole Top Ten post a few years ago on modern love stories, and they ran the gamut. Love comes in all forms, so picks for your favorite love stories should only naturally be the same.
