Filmmaker S. Craig Zahler has developed a cult following over the last few years. “Bone Tomahawk” and “Brawl in Cell Block 99” take their literal titles and depict startling brutality in a singular way. Zahler is back again this year with another hyper-violent outing in “Dragged Across Concrete,” which just released a New Trailer.
The official plot synopsis for the film is as follows:
DRAGGED ACROSS CONCRETE follows two police detectives who find themselves suspended when a video of their strong-arm tactics is leaked to the media. With little money and no options, the embittered policemen descend into the criminal underworld and find more than they wanted waiting in the shadows.
In addition to the Trailer, a Poster has been released for the movie:
From the look of things, Zahler is up to his old tricks. “Dragged Across Concrete” is not going to be subtle, that’s for sure. Gibson and Vaughn are imposing presences here, looking believably like dirty cops, which could make for a compelling cinematic experience. Vaughn previously starred in “Brawl in Cell Block 99,” so he’s one of many returning players here, including Jennifer Carpenter, Don Johnson, and Fred Melamed. They’ll join Gibson and a cast that also includes Laurie Holden, Tory Kittles, Thomas Kretschmann, and Michael Jai White. Zahler writes and directs.
The movie played at a few film festivals last year but now is headed towards a March release in theaters as well as On Demand. It won’t be for the easily offended or the weak of stomach, but if you’ve been into Zahler’s previous output, this is a spring release to look forward to.
