What’s on TV? – Friday (3/15/19) – Netflix Releases Fincher’s ‘Love, Death and Robots’

Only days after its premiere at SXSW, I Am Richard Pryor” makes its television debut. However, the louder noise will come from “Love, Death and Robots” on Netflix. With David Fincher and Tim Miller running the animated series, expect some very interesting and mind-melting stories. “Crazy Ex-Girlfriendbegins its final run to the finale as well.

“I Am Richard Pryor” on Paramount at 10 PM

After a premiere at SXSW days ago, “I Am Richard Pryor” makes its television premiere tonight. Directed by Jesse James Miller, the documentary paints a portrait of a genius and the demons that haunted him. Reviews were positive, and with Pryor’s comedy, there’s no doubt it’s funny. Even though it seems like “I Am Richard Pryor” may only scratch the surface, those who have not studied Pryor will find his story extremely interesting.

What’s Premiering

Love, Death & Robots” on Netflix

If you ever wondered what kind of crazy ideas that David Fincher would create for an animated series, your wait has ended. Netflix‘s “Love, Death & Robots” comes from the combined minds of Fincher and “Deadpool” director Tim Miller. The adult animation series has sex, violence, death, and more sex. The season releases with eighteen shorts, with stories featuring Werewolf Soldiers, Cyborg Bounty Hunters, and more. Considering Miller and Fincher’s penchant for dark and comedic tales, this one could be quite weird.

What’s Returning

“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” on CW at 9 PM

The musical comedy series returns for its final five episodes starting tonight. Rachel Bloom, who won a Golden Globe for playing Rebecca, has been on an absolute tear this season. Bloom has written multiple episodes, plays the titular character, and will direct the penultimate episode. The final two are scheduled for double  April 5, 2019. For those who have missed out, “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” the first three seasons are available on Netflix.
