Welcome back to the Streaming Circuit, a look at what’s going to be available each week to watch in the comfort of your own home. For those of you hoping to find some quality viewing options without leaving the house, this is the column for you!
“All About Nina” (Netflix)
One of last year’s very best films, filmmaker Eva Vives‘ directorial debut announced a bold new cinematic voice on the scene. Along with Vives’ writing and direction, Common and Mary Elizabeth Winstead put forward stunning work. The latter gave the best performance by an actress in 2018, bar none. It’s Winstead as you’ve never seen her before, that’s for sure. Here’s a bit from our rave review back at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival:
“All About Nina” is a true gut punch of a movie. Blisteringly funny, unexpectedly emotional, and filled with justified anger, there’s a lot to say within the picture. Buoyed by the best work of Mary Elizabeth Winstead‘s career, you can’t help but be impressed by this film.
“All About Nina” is an underrated gem. Winstead and Vives deserved awards attention in 2018 for this one. The movie did not get the love it deserved in theatrical release, so this is a second bite at the apple. It’s streaming on Netflix as of earlier in the week, so be sure to finally give it a look!
