Composer Junkie XL, also known as Tom Holkenborg, made a lot of fans with his kinetic music in “Mad Max: Fury Road.” That put him on the Hollywood map, leading to a number of high profile jobs since then. Director Tim Miller clearly likes what he’s heard, since Holkenborg is now on board to write the score for “Terminator: Dark Fate.”
In an exclusive, The Hollywood Reporter details that Junkie XL will be providing the score for the latest installment in the “Terminator” franchise. Holkenborg has previously worked with Miller on “Deadpool,” so they’ll be reuniting on this project. Slated for release in November, it will also mark James Cameron‘s return to the series, as he’s a producer here. Also back for more is Linda Hamilton, as well as franchise mainstay Arnold Schwarzenegger.
From the article:
For Junkie XL, there is no fate but what we make for ourselves.
Composer Tom Holkenborg, aka Junkie XL, will score Terminator: Dark Fate, the upcoming Terminator sequel that brings series creator James Cameron back as a producer for the first time since 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
The film is from director Tim Miller, who collaborated with Holkenborg on 2016’s Deadpool.
“It’s great to be working on another project with Tim,” Holkenborg said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “The original Terminators were such iconic movies, and having James back as a producer with Tim directing is an amazing dream team. It’s going to be a fantastic movie to be part of.”
Junkie XL clearly has a comfort level with blockbuster and large scale scores. Count “Terminator: Dark Fate” just among the latest for him.
