Streaming Circuit (3/29/19) – What’s Coming and Going From Your Favorite Platforms including ‘The Highwaymen’

Welcome back to the Streaming Circuit, a look at what’s going to be available each week to watch in the comfort of your own home. For those of you hoping to find some quality viewing options without leaving the house, this is the column for you!

Best Bet

The Highwaymen” (Netflix)

A new release from Netflix, this festival title stars Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson as retired police officers brought back to catch Bonnie & Clyde. Costner in particular has gotten some good notices for his work as Frank Hamer in John Lee Hancock‘s latest. From our rave review out of SXSW earlier this month:

…this is a film that doesn’t add to the legend of Bonnie & Clyde, and doesn’t turn Frank Hamer into someone larger than life either. It is simply a portrait of a man who went about doing good work. Which is all any real life hero does.

The Highwaymen” is a high profile drama for the streaming service. If you’re a Costner or Harrelson fan, this should be on your radar.  As of today, it’s streaming on Netflix!

A Fish Called Wanda” (Amazon Prime)

Kevin Kline won Best Supporting Actor for his comedic showcase in this laugh riot. Oscar loves to ignore comedies, but they couldn’t ignore what Kline did here. He took home gold, but John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Michael Palin are hilarious as well. Roger Ebert loved it, putting the following in his rave of a review:

The funniest movie I have seen in a long time.

A Fish Called Wanda” is a must watch and a comedy classic. It leaves Amazon Prime tomorrow, so get around to it ASAP!
