It feels as though the world of the zombie apocalypse has been awaiting the drop of Jim Jarmusch‘s next flick and it’s here! Focus Features have released the first trailer for Jarmusch’s zombie film “The Dead Don’t Die.”
“They gravitate towards things they did when they were alive,” says Sherriff Ronald Peterson, played by Oscar-nominated Adam Driver. The trailer is as infectious as it is fun. The cast includes Driver pairing up with Bill Murray against this interesting whirlwind of zombie patrol shenanigans. It features the continuous spectrum of Driver-led comedy that has worked charms in films like Noah Baumbach’s “While We’re Young” and “Frances Ha.”
Other members of Jarmusch’s hefty decorated cast include Chloë Sevigny, Selena Gomez, Steve Buscemi, Tilda Swinton, Caleb Landry Jones, Austin Butler, Tom Waits, Rosie Perez, and Danny Glover.
Jim Jarmusch is the sole scriptwriter in this wacky “Shaun of the Dead”-esque cinematic landscape. His past films in collaboration with the cast here include the Driver led 2016 indie “Paterson,” the Swinton-starring “Only Lovers Left Alive,” Murray-leading indie “Broken Flowers” and the Rosie Perez-starring anthology film “Night on Earth.” It has been three years since Jarmusch’s last outing with his musical documentary project “Gimme Danger,” starring Iggy Pop, who can also be seen in the upcoming zombie film. Jarmusch’s range is wide and known, marking this latest endeavor visually appetizing for blood and hilarious mayhem.
“The Dead Don’t Die” is produced by Animal Kingdom and will be distributed by Focus Features. It hits theaters June 14. Check out the wild ride of a trailer below! Also, check out AwardsCircuit’s Awards Profile on the film and its awards prospects!
