Marvel’s arrow-wielding Avenger is getting his own show on the Disney+ channel. Jeremy Renner returns for the streaming platform for a Hawkeye spin-off series.
Reported exclusively by Variety, the Disney streaming studios have yet another Avenger spin-off in the palm of their hands. The studio heads at Disney previously acquired the stories of Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, Vision and Scarlett Witch for spin-offs of their own.
The studio giant is in the early stages of the project, with Renner returning to his bow and arrow ways. The series follows Clint Barton as he prepares to pass the reigns onto Kate Bishop. The limited action series is expected for a six to eight-episode run.

Variety has learned from sources that Disney’s upcoming streaming service is officially developing a limited series based on the archery ace Marvel character with Renner attached to star. The project is said to be an adventure series in which Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, will pass the torch to Kate Bishop. Bishop is a Marvel Comics character who took up the Hawkeye mantle after Barton. She is also a member of the group known as the Young Avengers.
Disney and Marvel declined to comment. Reps for Renner declined to comment.
Jeremy Renner has starred alongside the Avengers as the Kevin Feige-produced franchise heads toward the climax. Outside of the MCU, Renner is known for his Oscar-nominated role in “The Hurt Locker.” He also appears in “American Hustle,” the Amy Adams co-starring “Arrival,” and Taylor Sheridan’s “Wind River.”
With audiences still reeling from the aftermath of “Avengers: Infinity War,” the next installment looks to bring impact as it hits theaters. Renner appears as Hawkeye in the upcoming “Avengers: Endgame” April 26. Renner is represented by CAA and Felker Toczek.
