What’s On TV? — Thursday (05/02/19) — Zombies Scares and Pageant Show Glory

Thursday night means the weekend is almost here, and what better way to celebrate than with some exciting TV? From zombies dramedies to spectacular pageants shows, audiences will definitely want to tune in tonight. Check out the top picks, new shows, and what’s returning to airwaves tonight.

Top Pick

“The Big Bang Theory” (CBS) at 8 p.m. EST

“The Big Bang Theory” has become a part of many viewers’ homes over the course of the remarkable 12 years the show has been on air. Fans will find the following few episodes leading up to the May 16 series finale fairly emotional with the end of an ear. The show’s creators seemed to have packed every last episode with a guttural punch along with the characteristic slapstick humor. Tonight’s episode is expected to captivate, as Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) find out that Dr. Pemberton (Sean Astin) did in fact plagiarize.

What’s Returning?

“iZombie” (CW) at 8:00 p.m. EST

“iZombie” returns with the first episode of its final season. The first four seasons of this cult favorite comedy-drama have been leading up to this moment. Liv (Rose McIver) faces an unprecedented challenge: She must solve a cold case without a body. This is uncharted territory for the med student-turned-zombie. Until now, Liv has been able to use her zombie abilities for good, solving murder cases by eating the brains from the victims’ corpses at the morgue. The final season premiere of “iZombie” is aiming for a bloody good start.

Limited Episodes

“On Tour with Asperger’s Are Us” (HBO) at 8:00 p.m. EST and 8:30 EST

The final two episodes of the limited series, “On Tour with Asperger’s Are Us,” air tonight. By the end of the 2016 HBO documentary “Asperger’s Are Us,” which followed four friends on the autism spectrum as they put together a comedy show, the friends have successfully orchestrated a gripping and hilarious show. They might have thought the performance was to be the end of their comedy careers., but the Duplass brothers wanted to see more. Noah Britton, Jack Hanke, Ethan Finlan and New Michael Ingemi return to HBO, this time to a series following them as they take their comedy show on the road. Alex Lehmann directs the series, which focuses mostly on how the four friends are able to live, and do comedy, with one another in tight spaces and unforgiving schedules.

“2019 Miss USA” (FOX) at 8:00 p.m. EST

Get ready for glitz, glamour and rapid fire questions at this year’s Miss USA pageant competition. The lucky winner will go on to live a year-long residence at a New York City apartment as they represent Miss USA and compete in the Miss Universe pageant. The champion will also fulfill public speaking duties and serve as the National Ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network. Past winners include Sarah Rose Summers, Kara McCullough, Olivia Jordan and Nia Sanchez.

TV Movies

“Sex and the City” (2008) will be airing on E! At 8 p.m. EDT. The second film in the franchise may not have been well-received, but the original “Sex and the City” film brought together all the elements the series had to offer: fashion, friendship, and the pitfalls of love and romance. In the film, Carrie gets a big surprise when she arrives at the altar on her wedding day that will change her life, at least for the time being. But Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte are there to pick up the pieces in this hilarious, romantic romp.
