WATCH: Mysterio Introduces the Multiverse in New ‘Spiderman: Far From Home’ Trailer

Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment have released a new trailer for “Spiderman: Far From Home.”

The trailer is preceded by a brief message from Tom Holland. Simply, if you haven’t seen “Avengers: Endgame,” do not watch the new “Spiderman: Far From Home” trailer. Spoilers ahead. After adjusting to life post-Tony Stark, Peter Parker is off to take a vacation and maybe spend more time with MJ (Zendaya). After ghosting Nick Fury’s calls to action, Peter soon needs to put the vacationing on the backburner.

The official trailer synopsis:

“Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!”

Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Mysterio, a character who’s introduced as having traveled through from an alternate universe. Surely, nothing’s off the table after “Avengers: Endgame” sprouted the time travel concept. With Quentin Beck’s allyship (a quite mysterious one) Spiderman will face the new evils bombarding the cities. “Spiderman: Far From Home” stars Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Colbie Smulders as Maria Hill, Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes, Zendaya as Michelle Jones, Laura Harrier as Liz and Jacob Batalon as Ned.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe looks poised to conquer the box office as “Avengers: Endgame” just broke through as the second highest worldwide grossing film of all time. Sitting at $2.19 billion, Marvel will certainly prevail with more in Spiderman’s next move. Jon Watts (“Spiderman: Homecoming”) returns to direct the film from a script written by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna.

Sony Pictures is distributing “Spiderman: Far From Home.” It opens in theaters July 2.
