WATCH: Sylvester Stallone Takes Ruthless Revenge in Teaser Trailer for ‘Rambo: Last Blood’

John Rambo has one last fight in him! Lionsgate released the first official trailer for the Sylvester Stallone-leading “Rambo: Last Blood.” Directed under Adrian Grunberg, the fifth installment of the Rambo action films will be its final bow as it looks to close out the character’s rage. Rambo, now much older than his 1982 physique, exacts revenge one last time. The militant trained vigilante is out for more as the trailer teases Rambo’s violence when tempered. It looks to promise some of the bloody and bold extents to his character, something it hopes to end on a well note.

The synopsis:

Almost four decades after he drew first blood, Sylvester Stallone is back as one of the greatest action heroes of all time, John Rambo. Now, Rambo must confront his past and unearth his ruthless combat skills to exact revenge in a final mission. A deadly journey of vengeance, RAMBO: LAST BLOOD marks the last chapter of the legendary series.

The cast of “Rambo: Last Blood” includes Stallone, Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Adrianna Barraza, Yvette Monreal, Genie Kim aka Yenah Han, Joaquin Cosio, and Oscar Jaenada. Crunberg, whose only other directing credit is “Get the Gringo,” takes from a screenplay written by Matthew Cirulnick and Stallone himself. David Morell is also credited for creating the original characters from the former franchise films. The fourth and most recent installment, “Rambo,” was directed by Stallone and grossed barely $42 million domestically and over $113 million worldwide.

“Rambo: Last Blood” will see John Rambo face his past in more violent ways than it can maybe show right now. Stallone has kept himself busy for the better part of the past 40 years since the original “Rambo,” starring in films like “The Expendables” (of which he’s rumored to be returning for the fourth film) the “Creed” films, and recently joining Brad Furman’s crime drama “Scarpa.”

Lionsgate is distributing “Rambo: Last Blood,” which finds its way into theaters September 20.
