Voting Begins with the Emmy Nominating Ballots

Emmy Award Nomination voting began Monday and with that came the release of the extensive nominee hopefuls across television. Performers on the ballot this year include a hefty 12 from HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” which includes Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner. Other performers who were announced added are  Alfie Allen, Pilou Asbaek, Richard Dormer, Gwendoline Christie and Carice van Houten. HBO’s comedy drama “Barry” is present as well with lead man Bill Hader making his presence on the ballot.

Across all 13 program genres and 31 tech categories, the biggest and farthest names in television culminate to a total of 732 programs competing for nominee slots. As reported on by GoldDerby, that makes four more than last year, with a total of 2,313 performers circling contention this year.

Emmy nominations will be announced July 16. The final voting rounds will begin August 15 up until August 29. The Primetime Emmy Awards take place on September 22nd and will air live on FOX.
