Amazon Studios have released the first trailer for season three of the Golden Globe and Emmy-winning series, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” Rachel Brosnahan‘s Midge goes on the road with her standup comedy tour and season three’s trailer takes a peek at her life on the road to Miami, taking the show to the troops and even a glimpse of a new guest actor. Tony Shalhoub, Michael Zegen, Kevin Pollak and Marin Hinkle return to their roles for the fresh season with the addition of Sterling K. Brown (“This is Us”) to the mix in an undisclosed role.
Showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino‘s comedy about a 1950s housewife turned comedy queen won a total of eight Primetime Emmys in 2018 for its debut season. This included wins for Sherman-Palladino’s directing as well as her writing for the pilot episode, Outstanding Lead Actress for Brosnahan, Outstanding Supporting Actress for Alex Borstein and for Outstanding Comedy Series. The series was nominated for Emmys galore earlier this year for its second season run, including for comedy series, lead actress for Brosnahan, production design, period costumes, makeup, hairstyling, and numerous guest acting spots.
Brosnahan took home a Golden Globe win for her performance in the second season earlier this year, marking her second win at the Globes for starring as the titular comedy sensation. Time will tell if the show can replicate last season’s high success. Start predicting the Emmy race and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”‘s chances over at the Circuit Hub!
