Fox Searchlight have released a new full length trailer for Noah Hawley‘s “Lucy in the Sky,” starring Academy Award winner Natalie Portman and Jon Hamm. The sci-fi drama includes supporting roles in Dan Stevens (“Beauty and the Beast”), Zazie Beetz (“Deadpool 2,” “Atlanta”), Pearl Amanda Dickson (“Legion”), Nick Offerman (“Hearts Beat Loud”) and Ellen Burstyn (“Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore”). The trailer sees Lucy (Portman) experiencing the solar system for herself, a place she later describes in the trailer asescribes as “the only place where anything makes sense.”
In LUCY IN THE SKY, Natalie Portman plays Lucy Cola, a strong woman whose determination and drive as an astronaut take her to space, where she’s deeply moved by the transcendent experience of seeing her life from afar. Back home as Lucy’s world suddenly feels too small, her connection with reality slowly unravels.
Hawley is a Primetime Emmy-winning writer and director, gaining praise for his work on the “Fargo” series. He is the creator of the FX series “Legion,” for which he also wrote and directed episodes. Hawley has also written for “Bones.” He directs Oscar winner Natalie Portman, who is known for her roles in “Jackie,” “Black Swan” and “Closer.” The screenplay is written by Brian C Brown, Elliott DiGuiseppi and Hawley.
“Lucy in the Sky” is produced by Reese Witherspoon, Bruna Papandrea, Noah Hawley and John Cameron (“Fargo”), with 26 Keys Productions and Fox Searchlight. It releases in theaters October 4. It will also be premiering at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival ahead of theatrical release.
