What’s On TV?- Tuesday (09/03/19) – ‘Black Swan’ Pirouettes to Television

Natalie Portman turned heads and won over Oscar voters with tonight's Pick of the Day.

As awards season begins, viewers can kick it off by watching “Black Swan,” a previous Oscar player. Since it’s a psychological horror film, it’s also a way to celebrate premature Halloween festivities. Meanwhile, two new shows make their return while some eclectic film options are in store.

Black Swan,” for which Natalie Portman won Best Actress, is a mind-bending look at a ballerina’s descent into madness. Once Nina Sayers (Portman) lands the role of a lifetime in Swan Lake, she faces possible competition with Lily (Mila Kunis), a ballerina who joins her company. In addition, Nina’s overbearing mother (Barbara Hershey) fuels her psychological turmoil. Catch up with this Darren Aronofsky film.


“Mayans M.C.” (FX) at 10:00 PM EDT

Mayans M.C.” hits the road again for its second season. This “Sons of Anarchy” spinoff follows Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes (JD Pardo), a former prison inmate. As he tries starting a new life, he becomes a prospect in the charter of the Mayans Motorcycle Club. The series also stars Sarah Bolger, Oscar nominee Edward James Olmos, and Raoul Trujillo.

“Greenleaf” (OWN) at 10:00 PM EDT

The family drama series “Greenleaf” returns for its fourth season. The show follows the dark secrets that continuously befall the Greenleaf family and their Memphis megachurch. At the head of the family is Bishop James Greenleaf (Keith David) and his wife, Lady Mae (Lynn Whitfield). Once their estranged daughter Grace (Merle Dandridge) returns home chaos ensues.


“The Internship” (FX) at 7:35 PM ET

During the early 2000s, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson were at the height of their comedic star fame. While “The Internship” was released after their heyday, it’s still a fun reminder of their respective funnyman gifts. Vaughn and Wilson play two salesmen facing unemployment. Looking to find a job in today’s digital age, they apply for an internship at Google. Inevitably, hijinks are the order of the day.
