What’s On TV? – Monday (9/16/19) – American Heroes and Champions

For tonight’s viewing pleasure, there’s a hero on every channel, from your local, everyday hero (“American Ninja Warrior,” “Daylight,” “Field of Dreams”)  to iconic, larger-than-life (“Ali,” “Twilight Saga,” “Jack Reacher”). There’s even a little something on for the entire family tonight (“Alvin and the Chipmunks,” “Toy Story,” “Moana”). A great mix of drama, comedy, thrills and fun, Monday night has got an offering for everyone.

“American Ninja Warrior” on NBC at 8:00 p.m. ET

On tonight’s season finale, for the first time in four years America will finally crown a winner. After traversing through the seven daunting obstacles of stage three, one worthy contestant will emerge victorious and take home $1 million. With more action and edge-of-your-seat suspense than a made-for-TV drama, “American Ninja Warrior” will have you rooting for a winner.

“World War Z” (FX) 8:00 PM ET

World War Z

This 2013 action-horror film has Brad Pitt racing around the world and against the clock to stop a Zombie pandemic that will end humanity as we know it. This entertaining Zombie apocalypse movie offers thrills and suspense that will keep viewers holding their breathe and wishing the world doesn’t end. An entertaining and fun watch for a Monday night.

“Ali” (TMC) 10:00 PM ET

One of Will Smith‘s best performances, his portrayal of the legendary Muhammad Ali garnered him an Oscar nomination in this 2001 biopic. With stellar performances from Jamie Foxx, Jon Voight, and Jeffrey Wright, this Michael Mann-directed picture offers an authentic and engaging depiction of a the icon’s trials and tribulations. Definitely worth the watch.
