The first trailer for Michael Bay‘s next feature, “6 Underground” has been released. “Deadpool” star Ryan Reynolds takes the lead in Bay’s new and explosive action film, produced by Netflix.
Six billionaires fake their own deaths and form an elite vigilante squad in order to take down notorious criminals. The premise is top notch for the director to dip his hands into the big blockbuster prowess he is known to produce. The cast includes Mélanie Laurent, Ben Hardy, Adria Arjona, Dave Franco, Corey Hawkins and James Murray.
Bay is widely known for helming feature such as the first two installments of “Bad Boys,” Pearl Harbor,” “Armageddon,” 2007’s “Transformer,” and the next four sequels that followed. Bay also helped produce “The Purge,” Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Bumblebee” and the box office hit “A Quiet Place.” He is also set to produce the film’s direct sequel, as well as more untitled projects of some aforementioned features. Bay now directs “6 Underground” with a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
Reynolds has recently starred in “Pokémon Detective Pikachu” as well as a small cameo in “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.” His stardom catapulted to the top again with the lead role in “Deadpool,” for which he was nominated at the Golden Globes, and “Deadpool 2.” Mélanie Laurent, who also stars in Bay’s new film, can be easily recognized by audiences as she starred in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglorious Basterds” as Shosanna.
“6 Underground” is produced by Bay Films, Skydance Media. Netflix will be distributing the film on its streaming platform December 13.
