Rome Film Festival Announce Official Lineup, Includes ‘Motherless Brooklyn,’ ‘Waves’ & ‘The Farewell’

Rome Film Festival has revealed its official lineup for the 2019 edition, taking place at the Auditorium Parco della Musica among other venues in the city. Popular titles in the lineup include Lulu Wang’s critically loved “The Farewell,” Trey Edward Shults’ third directorial feature, “Waves,” Lorene Scafaria’s STX breakout, “Hustlers” and the film adaptation of “Downton Abbey.”

Prior to the festival commencing, John Turturro’s solo sequel to “The Big Lebowski,” “The Jesus Rolls,” will have its world premiere October 16. Edward Norton’s “Motherless Brooklyn” will open the festival, with Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman” playing as the centerpiece feature. Lifetime Achievement Awards will be given to Bill Murray and Viola Davis.

Rome Film Festival takes place October 17-27. Below are the official selections.
