WATCH: It’s Back to Trouble in First Trailer For ‘Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway’

Old tricks. New mischief! Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the first trailer for “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway.” James Corden returns to the role of the beloved, trouble-making rabbit after starring in 2018’s “Peter Rabbit.”

The trailer shows Bea (Rose Byrne) and Jeremy (Domhnall Gleeson), now at their wedding with the rabbits in attendance. When Peter assumes Jeremy will now be his parent, he imagines smacking the groom straight in the face, until he is snapped back to reality to bare the wedding rings. The story follows up from Will Gluck’s 2018 film, where Jeremy first moved beside Bea and Peter called an all out war against him and his land inheritance.

At one point in the new trailer, Jeremy is seen driving off from the rabbits and advises them to stay out of trouble when Peter explains he wasn’t talking to him directly. “I’m talking to you, Peter, specifically! Stay out of trouble!” Gleeson’s character tells him. Of course, Peter will inevitably find ways to get himself into those troubles.

The beloved character from the novels of Beatrix Potter returns to the screen Easter Day. Will Gluck returns to direct the sequel, which sees stars Rose Byrne and Domhnall Gleeson reprising their roles. The cast of rabbit includes Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki, Daisy Ridley and David Oyelowo.

“Peter Rabbit” opened domestically last year to approximately $114 million and over $351 million at the worldwide box office. It had an estimated $50 million budget. Patrick Burleigh now pens the script. Gluck also directed “Fired Up!,” “Easy A” and “Friends with Benefits.”

“Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” is produced and distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment. It releases in the UK March 27, 2020 and in the U.S. April 3, 2020.
