What’s On TV? – Wednesday (11/6/19) – Tonight Brings Plenty of Drama

From the comedy lineup on ABC to the FX hit “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” Wednesday nights have been a night of television that provides plenty of laughs. As with any good night of TV, the evening evens out as it delivers plenty of gripping dramas. On NBC, the “Chicago” trifecta airs all three shows right in a row: “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire,” and “Chicago P.D.” From infamous “Law and Order” creator Dick Wolf comes three different stories from three different emergency fields in one of the toughest and most crime-ridden cities in America. The drama doesn’t stop there as “American Horror Story: 1984” airs tonight with the second to last episode of the season.

“Chicago Med.”

Pick of the Day

“American Horror Story: 1984” (FX) at 10:00 p.m. ET

With the first season, “American Horror Story” became a staple in the land of horror TV. It is this show that launched creator Ryan Murphy into his title as the king of horror television, eventually leading him to one of the most lucrative studio deals in history. “American Horror Story” also set the stage for many stars to nab plenty of prestigious awards and nominations. Lady Gaga made a name for herself as an actress when she won a Golden Globe in 2016 for her performance in season five. Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson have been nominated for multiple Emmys for their work and guest stars such as Angela Bassett and Kathy Bates have also received Emmy nods. Makeup, hairstyling, costumes, and prosthetics artists have also won several Emmys for their creative work.

Now in its ninth season, this anthology series follows five friends as their pasts come to haunt them during their summer working at Camp Redwood. With this horror classic, Halloween may be over, but “American Horror Story” is still here to bring the frights.

Movies on TV

“I Feel Pretty” (TMC) at 9:45 p.m. ET

If you’ve had enough drama for one night, watch this fun film starring Amy Schumer. “I Feel Pretty” follows a woman who hits her head and suddenly thinks she is the most gorgeous woman on the planet. The thing is, our protagonist hasn’t changed one bit, only her perception has. Written and directed by the king and queen of feel-good comedies, Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn, (“He’s Just Not That Into You,” “Never Been Kissed,” “How to Be Single”) this film is a refreshing positive message that proves, despite a world of diets and warped body images, we are more than capable of loving our bodies just the way they are.
