What’s On TV? – Monday 11/18/19 – The ‘2019 Soul Train Awards’ Are Bound to Delight With Unforgettable Performances and Viral Moments

Tonight’s got quite the fun lineup. Whether you tune in to “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Grown Ups,” “Dancing With the Stars” or the “2019 Soul Train Awards,” whatever you watch is bound to put a smile on your face. Or maybe you’re in the mood for a movie classic (“Back to the Future,” “Top Gun,” “There’s Something About Mary” or “Goodfellas”). Monday’s got you covered there too!

Pick of the Day:

“Black Lightning” (CW) at 9:00 p.m. ET

In the third season of “Black Lightning,” this DC comic universe continues to examine the dichotomy between family life and the life of a superhero with real situations. The show further explores the issues around vigilante justice this week with Jefferson being torn between loyalty to his family and his commitment to saving Freeland. This episode is filled with all the drama you need tonight.

Movies on TV:

“Guardians of the Galaxy” (SYFY) 6:30 PM ET

If you’re looking for some fun, look no further than the first film in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise. What’s not to love about a ragtag crew of intergalactic criminals banding together to stop a fanatical warrior from trying to purge the universe? With fun performances from Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista as well as some other well-known familiar faces, this film is filled with laughs, drama and lots of action. Oh, and it has a great soundtrack to boot.

“Top Gun” (CMT) 9:30 p.m. ET

Who doesn’t love this 1986 classic? Settle in tonight with Maverick, Iceman, Goose and the rest of the crew as they compete to be the best of the best. What this timeless legend lacks in plot, it more than makes up for with action sequences, yet another great soundtrack and some of the biggest names in the 1980s (Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, Meg Ryan, Tim Robbins). Do you feel the need, the need for speed tonight?

“Goodfellas” (AMC) 10:30 PM ET

One of the best mob dramas of all time, this Oscar-nominated film is definitely a classic worth watching (for the first time or again). This heavy-hitter tells the story of small-time gangster Henry Hill and his ascension through the ranks of an Italian-American crime syndicate. This is a must watch directed by Martin Scorsese and featuring amazing performances from some of the best in the game like Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci, Ray Liotta, Paul Sorvino and Lorraine Bracco.
