What’s On TV? – Monday (12/2/19) – Monday Night Wastes No Time Getting Into the Holiday Spirit

Tonight’s lineup runs the gamut, from historical silent films (“Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ”) to 2019 breakout comedies (“Little”). Monday is also trying to get you in the mood for the holidays. Between Hallmark, Lifetime, “The Great Christmas Light Fight” and “Wrap Battle,” you’re bound to get in the spirit. And we can’t forget about the drama; Monday’s still got enough drama to get you through the week (“9-1-1,” “48 Hours on ID,” “All Rise,” etc.).

Pick of the Day:

“Making It” (NBC) at 10:01 p.m. ET

Who doesn’t love a crafting competition? And the sarcastically funny Nick Offerman and Amy Poehler hosting are all the more reason to get excited about the Season 2 premiere. Real-life friends, these two host are a delight to watch and give a sense of nostalgia for “Parks and Recreation” fans. The talented crafters amaze and astound each week and make this feel-good reality show even more fun to watch.

Movies on TV:

“Little” (HBO) 7:05 PM ET

In this 2019 age-swap comedy, a woman is transformed into her younger self when the pressures of adult life start to weigh on her. Starring Regina Hall, Issa Rae, Justin Hartley, Tracee Ellis Ross and the scene-stealing Marsai Martin, “Little” is a family-friendly movie that will deliver some light-hearted fun to start your week off.

“Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ” (TCM) 8:00 p.m. ET

We’re taking it back tonight: way back to biblical times. In the silent film that started it all and spawned several remakes through the years, classic Hollywood leading man Ramon Navarro stars as a Jewish prince trying to find his family and seek revenge upon his childhood friend who had him wrongly imprisoned.

“Ben Hur” (TCM) 10:45 PM ET

Turner Classic Movies hits us with a double-header tonight with the 1959 remake of the silent film predecessor. Filled with action, drama and a little romance to boot, this iconic historical film was epic in scale and greatness then and still today. Directed by William Wyler and starring the legendary Charlton Heston, “Ben-Hur” is cinematic, heart-stopping and totally immerses the viewer from the very beginning. Definitely a must-watch.
