We’re a lengthy podcast today but we get into it quite a bit. We start with the television season and some of the pilots that have premiered. Everything from the horrible “Blacklist” to the clever “Goldbergs,” we are excited about a few shows this season. We also talk about the Emmy Awards from last Sunday.
The big news of the week were the push backs for Bennett Miller’s “Foxcatcher” and Olivier Dahan’s “Grace of Monaco.” There’s also the possibility for Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street” moving as well. We discuss.
We get a temperature gauge on the New York Film Festival so far that includes the premiere of “Captain Phillips” as well as “Inside Llewyn Davis.” Where do they stand on the season? Also, is Tom Hanks headed for a third Oscar?
We also go into all the Oscar categories including the very sad Adapted Screenplay race. Listing 40 contenders is pretty hard these days.
