‘Bombshell’ Leads Ahead with Wins From Makeup and Hairstyling Guild Awards

The Makeup and Hairstyling Guild Awards took place Saturday. Jay Roach’s news drama, “Bombshell,” took home three top prizes, including Best Contemporary Makeup, Best Special Makeup Effects and Best Contemporary Hairstyling.

Todd Phillips’ “Joker” also saw a win in the night, taking the award for Best Period/And Or Character Makeup. On the television front, HBO’s “Big Little Lies” earned two wins, for Best Contemporary Makeup and best Contemporary Hairstyling. “Fosse/Verdon” was awarded two wins, in Best Period/ And Or Character Makeup and Best Period/ And Or Character Hairstyling.
