The film tells the story of Belle (Emma Watson), a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who becomes a prisoner to a beast (Dan Stevens) in his castle. Eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken provides the score. Menken won two Academy Awards (Best Original Score and Best Song) for the 1991 animated film. The new film will include new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and Howard Ashman.
