CHECK OUT: Damien Chazelle’s ‘First Man’ Debuts a Poster

We have one small step for this movie today, though it could be one giant leap for the Oscar race. Sorry, couldn’t resist. Anyway, Damien Chazlle‘s “First Man” is easily one of 2018’s most anticipated films. The Neil Armstrong biopic could be a huge Academy Award player, while it marks his follow up to “La La Land.” Still many months away, the movie is beginning to blast off with promotional materials. First up is a Poster, with a Trailer also on the way, following a showcase on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” this evening, where star Ryan Gosling is a guest. “First Man” is starting its launch count down (last pun, sorry), which is rather exciting.

Starring Gosling as Armstrong, here is the official synopsis: “On the heels of their six-time Academy Award®-winning smash, La La Land, Oscar®-winning director Damien Chazelle and star Ryan Gosling reteam for Universal Pictures’ First Man, the riveting story of NASA’s mission to land a man on the moon, focusing on Neil Armstrong and the years 1961-1969. A visceral, first-person account, based on the book by James R. Hansen, the movie will explore the sacrifices and the cost—on Armstrong and on the nation—of one of the most dangerous missions in history.” Chazelle directs a script from Nicole Perlman and Josh Singer. Joining Gosling are Claire Foy (said to be phenomenal), along with Christopher Abbott, Kyle Chandler, Jason Clarke, Ethan Embry, Patrick Fugit, Lukas Haas, Ciarán Hinds, Brian d’Arcy James, Pablo Schreiber, Corey Stoll, and Shea Whigham. Behind the scenes, Tom Cross edits, Justin Hurwitz provides the score, and Linus Sandgren handles the cinematography. It all adds up to something that will have must see status. Look below to see why…
