Orion Pictures have revealed the first image of the upcoming “Bill & Ted Face the Music” featuring Alex Winter as ‘Bill’ S. Preston Esq. and Keanu Reeves as ‘Ted’ Theodore Logan looking dashing in colorful suits. The image can be found above.

This latest feature will be the third installment in the “Bill & Ted” franchise, after the 1989 “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” and the 1991 “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.” The films have also had their own spin-off television shows — one animated and one live-action.

The official synopsis for the sci-fi comedy reads:

The stakes are higher than ever for the time-traveling exploits of William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. and Theodore “Ted” Logan. Yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny, the now middle aged best friends set out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it. Along the way, they will be helped by their daughters, a new batch of historical figures, and a few music legends – to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe.

Joining Winter and Reeves are Samara Weaving (“Ready or Not”) and Brigette Lundy-Paine (“Bombshell”) who will both be playing the daughters of the two iconic characters. William Sadler will return to his role as Grim Reaper.

Dean Parisot directs. He is no stranger to cult classics, having previously made “Galaxy Quest” which featured an all-star cast including Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman and Sam Rockwell. Screenwriters Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon returned to the franchise to pen the script as they had done the first two installments. Scott Kroopf, Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce are producing.
