What’s On TV? – Thursday (12/5/19) – Christmas Specials Rule the Night

0

There’s no time to recoup from Thanksgiving because it’s now officially the Christmas season. The Christmas specials have started airing, giving you a few options tonight:

Pick(s) of the Day:
“A Charlie Brown Christmas” (ABC) at 8:00 p.m. ET

“A Saturday Night Live Christmas Special (NBC) at 8:00 p.m. ET

Spend your evening with a classic, which is a staple of the holiday season every year. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” remains a sweet short about the meaning of Christmas. Should you be looking for a different avenue for specials, “Saturday Night Live” is offering holiday-themed sketches for their audience.

Movies on TV:
“Taxi Driver” (SHO2e)  at 8:00 p.m. ET

Perhaps you’ve heard Martin Scorsese’s name brought up over the past several months? His disturbing but masterful “Taxi Driver” is always worth a re-watch but especially through today’s lens. Whether Scorsese is starting fights with the Marvel fans around the world or this year’s “Joker” is being compared to “Taxi Driver,” his 1976 film remains a relevant piece of filmmaking and storytelling.
