Well, my friends, the Oscar season has come and gone once again. I don’t know about you, but for the first time in a few years I was thrilled with the way things turned out (and I’m not talking about a personal career-high 21 correct predictions; *pats self on back*). From the Best Picture selection of 12 Years a Slave to the potentially career-making/saving Supporting Actress decision of Lupita Nyong’o over Jennifer Lawrence, respectively, AMPAS did quite all right this time around, in my opinion.
From a bit of history being made, to a fun and jubilant host, to some pretty outstanding musical performances, and some rather fantastic speeches, the 86th Academy Awards provided quite a few moments to remember. Of course, there was the ridiculous amount of standing ovations (13?? 14??) and the unfortunate John Travolta incident (Adele Dazeem is the inevitable answer to a pop culture Trivial Pursuit question), but who’s complaining?
With so many things to be happy about, this week Circuit 3 is asking what your three Best Moments from the 86th Academy Awards were. Whether it is a certain winner, performance, or maybe a certain pizza guy, let us know what you enjoyed most about it!
My Circuit 3 for The Best Moments from The 86th Academy Awards:
- Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) winning Supporting Actress
- Emmanuel Lubezki (Gravity) winning Cinematography
- 12 Years a Slave winning Best Picture
For me, clearly, it was all about the winners. It always is.
Hope you enjoyed the show and the Academy’s selections as much as I did. Looking forward to finding out with you what names will be stuffed inside the envelopes at the 87th Academy Awards!
