I only support the idea of double nominations if the second does not take up a spot on the ballot. For example, it’ll be this:
Leonardo DiCaprio – Blood Diamond, The Departed
plus four
And not this:
Leonardo DiCaprio – Blood Diamond
Leonardo DiCaprio – The Departed
plus three

Joey Magidson

Enjoy!

Honestly, I hope there’s a niche podcast out there with a guy named Ryan McDermond where everyone talks about how much they hate me for 5 minutes.

Here’s a question for you guys. I recently saw on a goldderby message board the low box office numbers for Phantom Thread. Now I didn’t like the movie at all but I just assumed with the Oscar nominations it wouldn’t lose money. Anyway do you think there will be a moment when this will become a problem for Anderson regarding financing or do you think he’ll be fine as long as he takes years between movies, keeps them midbudget, and has production companies like Annapurna to cut checks.

The If Beale Street Could Talk trailer looks gorgeous. Seems like an easy cinematography nom.

Circuit Breaker Question:

Does anyone have any ideas on who else could have made for a good high-pitched, over-enthusiastic ‘White Voice’ in Sorry to Bother You? All I can think of is Justin Timberlake and Bobby Moynihan.
