On the agenda:

  • Announcing a new CONTEST! You can win a copy of the three movie pack of the “How to Train Your Dragon” franchise, including the third installment, “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.”  We also have a soundtrack copy for you as well.  On behalf of Universal Pictures, How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is currently on Digital (released on April 30) and hits 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray™ & DVD shelves on May 21.
  • It’s Mother’s Day (at the time of recording) and we are talking about our favorite movie mothers of all-time (and even a few TV ones too!).  Some of our choices include Sally Field (“Forrest Gump”), Shirley MacLaine (“Terms of Endearment”), and more.
  • Coming from one of our esteemed readers, we are picking out the best Oscar lineup for the category of DIRECTOR since the year 2000.  Are we soft for Kathryn Bigelow’s historic win and her lineup or did something more recent tickle our fancy?
  • The first long teaser was bestowed on the horror world for “It: Chapter Two” featuring a terrified Jessica Chastain going up against an old lady who may be related to Pennywise?  Karen corrects that with knowledge of the source material.
  • The first trailer for Rupert Goold’s “Judy” with Renee Zellweger dropped and we have thoughts about Judy Garland’s long-awaited biopic and if this was the right move.
  • Wrapped up the Montclair Film Festival where I (Clayton) sat on the jury and chose the moving documentary “Life with Layla” for the New Jersey Films competition.
  • There’s even a little non-spoiler “Game of Thrones” bitching going on about this eighth season, as we approach the finale.
