**Circuit Q&A’s are our daily community question, posed to the readers of AwardsCircuit that cover various topics from film and television to general wonderings and for instances**
If you haven’t already noticed, our fearless leader Clayton Davis has posted his Year in Advance predictions for the Academy Awards. They’re right here for your reading pleasure, as well as briefly discussed in the most recent episode of the podcast, but they also spur on today’s question. Specifically, we want to know what you think of the picks. Are Clayton’s predictions on point? Do you see the upcoming awards season, a full year out, in a very different way? Now’s the time to let us know!
Do you agree with Clayton’s picks? If so, you might be big on “Ammonite” as a potential acting vehicle for Saoirse Ronan to score her first Academy Award. Likewise, you would see “Nomadland” as an early frontrunner for Best Picture. That would make Chloe Zhao only the second woman to direct a Best Picture winner. The boss also has Zhao in the Best Director lineup, which is a smart early pick. These are very solid guesses, but maybe you disagree?
If you veer in another direction with your early Oscar predictions, what are you backing instead? Maybe you think Christopher Nolan is going to dominate the season with “Tenet?” You don’t even have to be backing a specific title. Perhaps there’s an assumption that the Academy will go for something closer to “Parasite?” In that case, we wouldn’t be in the know about what that is, just yet.
We put it to you all now. What do you think of Clayton’s advance predictions? Good? Bad? A mix? Whatever your take is, it’s completely valid at this early juncture. We’re all ears and can’t wait to hear your takes!
