Today’s holiday is meant to represent what we are most thankful for. Those include family, friends and other important things we know we can’t live without. Among the secondary priorities in life, movies ranks among the top on many people’s lists. Once the turkey’s carved and the football games end, there really isn’t much left to do. Instead of spending more time at home, many of us look to our movie theaters for entertainment on Thanksgiving.

Being either a single person experience or family affair, going to the movies on a holiday is not a bad way to celebrate. Movie theaters can bring year round enjoyment to millions of people looking to escape life. Exploration of cinematic worlds with characters they will fall in love with and relate to. Stories of all different styles to suit anyone’s appetite.

Take this year, for example. You could venture to a theater and catch animated adventure in “Frozen II,” biopics A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood and The Irishman or catch up on releases from weeks past like Ford v Ferrari and Jojo Rabbit.” You can even catch Rian Johnson’s crime caper Knives Out,” which could lead to an interesting discussions after since it centers on a family who hates each other dealing with the fallout of a murder. As stated before, something for everyone.

Heck, you could skip the whole mess of getting together with the family and plant inside the theater all day. If you do, then you’re in luck because many local art house or independent theaters, like the Alamo Drafthouse, serve food and drinks for all screenings. They even serve traditional Thanksgiving meals as well so no need to miss on your fair share of turkey. But even if you go to a larger theater chain, you can still catch the many new releases as well as some screening of holiday classic, all meant to bring a smile to your film loving heart.
