  • This was a big week here at the Awards Circuit! The power of votes for the Awards Season 2011 shifted to the hands of our beloved readers. The Awards Circuit Community Awards launched and gave the readers a chance to cast their votes for the best of 2011. Remember, voting is still in process until January 15th, so if you have not already voted, what are you waiting for?!
  • Our perennial writer, Joey Magidson, gave a beautiful piece on the city that never sleeps — New York — which he rightfully claims is the best cinematic character of 2011.
  • Joey also unveiled the little seen comedy that has received raves, ‘The Guard,’ as his DVD Pick-Of-The-Week alongside his vintage choice of J. J. Abram’s ‘Cloverfield’. Netflix, we’ve got a new date planned!
  • Our very own film professor, Mr. John H. Foote, wrote a persuasive article about the possible likelihood of ‘War Horse’ for Best Picture, and Martin Scorsese for Best Director. Will Foote’s “Hollywood Ending” premonition pan out? Read Foote’s article, and tune in on Oscar night to find out!
  • Our national hero at Awards Circuit, Mr. Robert Hamer, tackled the difficult Academy field that is Costume Design. With a detailed list of potential long-shots and contenders, Hamer narrows it down for everyone, building suspense and anticipation for the big Oscar night where we learn the results.
  • The Awards Circuit Staff revealed their Top 10 Films of 2011 to a huge response from our readers with their own selections. We thank you for your continued involvement and support!
  • Academy Idol’s Top 8 battled it out for your votes in Screenwriter’s Week. To the shock of many, one of the WGA nominations was surprisingly given the boot. Check out the Academy Idol Top 8 results to find out which film was given the heave-ho!
  • And finally, last but certainly not least, our very own CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Awards Circuit himself, Mr. Clayton Davis, shared his Year-in-Review at the Awards Circuit with Honorable Mentions, Editor’s Specialty Awards, and the Davis’ Film Awards Editor’s Choices and Winners. What a glorious way to end the Year-in-Review of 2011! We all had an amazing year thanks to our Editor-in-Chief, our amazing Awards Circuit Writing Staff, and of course the readers who make us happy to express our love for movies, television, awards, and music on a daily basis.
