Comic-Con: Chris Terrio could be in line to write ‘Justice League’

chris-terrio-wmeI suppose the big wigs over at Warner Brothers must be pretty satisfied with what Argo scribe Chris Terrio brought to the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice script, since they seem keen to have him write Justice League as well. Terrio is now being courted for the superhero team up, and I can’t say that I blame him. The Oscar winner is a talented scribe, so why not? Presuming he doesn’t mind falling down the superhero rabbit hole, this likely will wind up happening. I’m sure we’ll hear more this weekend at Comic Con, but for now you can see a bit more below. Stay tuned…

Here’s the story from The Hollywood Reporter:

Warner Bros. is looking to bring writer Chris Terrio back to the DC universe.

For months, the studio has been courting the Argo writer — who most recently did a draft of Warner Bros.’ Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice — to pen its Justice League movie.

Sources say one of Terrio’s tasks with the Batman v. Superman rewrite was to set up the Justice League spin-off, which the studio recently revealed is in the works with Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman director Zack Snyder at the helm.

Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill is expected to reprise his role as Superman for Justice League. (He’s also returning for Batman v. Superman.) Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot, who play Batman and Wonder Woman, respectively, in Batman v. Superman, also are expected to return. Actors such as Ray Fisher have been hired to appear in cameos or small roles in Batman v. Superman but will be leads in Justice League.

Batman v. Superman is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.

The studio aims to shoot the movies back-to-back.

Terrio has a strong relationship with Warners and Affleck, who directed and starred in Argo, a best picture Oscar winner for the studio. The only sliver of Kryptonite in any dealmaking is that Terrio is looking to make the jump to directing and may not want to dedicate his efforts to the high-profile writing assignment.

Justice League is based on characters created by multiple people, including Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster (Superman) as well as Bob Kane (Batman).

Terrio is repped by WME and attorney James Feldman.
